Sr Julie Kubasak’s visit to GB
Sister Julie Kubasak, Assistant General, arrived in London on 21st May and spent a week with the Sisters in the GB Area of the Province. She informally visited the Sisters and houses in South and North England as well as Scotland getting to know our communities and ministries. She also spent the 23rd May at a day meeting at Provincial House organised by Daughter of Charity Services entitled: “Solidarity, Service and Challenge: Our Vincentian response to rising need.” This meeting was attended by the CEOs of the subsidiary groups and their Chairs of Trustees as well as the CEO and staff members from DC Services itself. During the day a Memorandum of Understanding (Group Staff Handbook) was signed and adopted as a legally binding document for the subsidiaries. The afternoon included group sharing and an open forum to look at the next steps in corporate vision for the future. It was a good experience for Sr Julie to learn about the ways we are trying to foster and keep the Vincentian Charism alive here in Great Britain. Sr Julie returned to Paris on 28th May after a “packed” but enjoyable and useful week among us.
